and so it begins…

but i’m struggling to pull myself out of holiday mode. granted all this rain and humidity is helping in my quest not to go outside and have fun, but each morning i sit down to work i find myself wasting hours on the internet (oh look, it’s 2.35 pm –  how did that happen?!).

in reality, the time-wasting – it can’t last for long. this month has turned out to be CRAZY - my visions of  a luxuriously quiet january spent between the beach, park and various kiddy activities has been rudely interrupted by more than a few very awesome jobs. more on those soon.

anyway, there is nothing like writing a blog post to make me feel like i have actually achieved something (and hopefully become the catalyst for a productive non-internet-time-wasting few days). so here are some things i did at the end of last year:

* customised  lomo diana camera for the diana world tour exhibition:

diana_clone_beci

the exhibition starts feb 3 in sydney at blender gallery (16 elizabeth st, paddington) and then moves on to no vacancy in melbourne (from feb 25) and the department store in auckland (from march 18). there is a big team of great artists involved including gemma jones, greedy hen and dawn tan, just to name a few. more deets here.

* poster artwork for M WARD australian tour:

m_ward_ALL_DATES

this really was an honour (thanks for thinking of me love police!). the tour is sure to be amazing. more details and tickets available here

* beci x gorman co-lab tee number 2:

gorman_geo_digital

scanned straight out of my sketchbook! i don’t have a pic of the actual tee yet, but i will post when i can get one. once again its been digitally printed onto lovely soft organic cotton, and $5.00 of every sale get donated to friends of the earth. available in gorman stores now (plus they have a great sale on too)!

also – if your haven’t already – please donate to the queensland flood appeal. its just insane what mother nature has unleashed up north and there are so many in need. i am involved in a few art-based charity auctions for the cause too, which i will post about soon as well.

RIGHT – time to get some work done!

    Hi … just discovered your blog although I have loved your work forever. It has made my morning! Having just started a business, I can totaly relate to all you have written. I especially like knowing that people whose creative work I most admire, sometimes lose days surfing the net, have shitty weeks every now and then and cash flow problems over Christmas. Thanks for sharing the real life stuff as well as your work. It’s all inspiring.
